I must have scared everybody off.
Sadly, I know a lot more about what others thought than what I think. I am like Socrates: I do not think that I know what I do not know.
That reminds me of a great quote from Kevin Reagan" "at my first job, the only negative thing on my performance evaulation was 'comes across as a know-it-all,' . . . but I knew better."
In more direct response to Ray's comment, I agree that many Americans are very opinionated. People love to have opinions about things, even things which they have very little direct knowledge. This becomes quite clear when talking about politics or when election year rolls around. Your average Joe on the street with naught but a high school diploma all of a sudden becomes an expert on international diplomacy and macroeconomic policy. I blame Foxnews. And NPR.
On a more personal level, I've gotton to where I hardly trust any politician anymore, Republican, Democrat, Communist, you name it. I'm seriously thinking about de-registering to vote.
