More Pizza for your buck
Last Thursday, I ordered pizza for all of our summer interns and everybody who worked with them. I first considered Pizza Hut, but then I checked out Papa John's. Here is my analysis:
Pizza Hut
Largest Pizza: 14' = 12 slices
Pizza Area: (pi)*(14/2)^2 = 154 sq. in
One Topping Pizza = $12.99 (8.4 cents/sq in)
Speciality Pizza = $14.99 (9.7 cents/sq in)
Papa John's
Largest Pizza: 16' = 10 slices
Pizza Area: (pi)* (16/2)^2 = 201 sq. in
One Topping Pizza = $12.99 (7.5 cents/sq in)
Speciality Pizza = $17.99 (8.9 cents/sq in)
Based on this analysis, Papa John's gives you more pizza for the buck than does Pizza Hut. So, we ordered nearly $200 worth of Papa John's pizza for our Intern Luncheon. Papa John's Hawaiian BBQ Chicken and their BBQ Chicken & Bacon pizzas taste very good.
I wonder how many people analyze pizza options like this.
